The Ethereum Foundation, in cooperation with Aztec, Polygon, Scroll, Taiko and zkSync, is launching the ZK Grants program to encourage research and development of zero-knowledge proofs and ZK L2 standards.
Each backer and the Ethereum Foundation contributed $150,000 to the shared prize pool, for a total of $900,000.
- Ideas: Evaluate the performance of the proof system, improve the ZK developer experience, establish security and risk baselines, develop mandatory inclusion tools and front-ends for ZK L2, provide translators and hardware acceleration, and implement a multi-certifier system.
- Application Requirements: Submit a proposal in PDF format with a detailed description, budget, timeline, applicant profile and links to public repositories or published work.
- Application deadline: March 18, 2024. Decision results will be sent via email within 6-8 weeks after the application deadline.
- Meet the eligibility criteria: Projects must be open source, meet the goals of this round, and contribute to the development of the Ethereum ZK L2 ecosystem.
